COVID19 Updates

We will keep this page updated with the latest news and advice:

NEW 06/07/2020 - W/C 13th July Booking System for places in school

The government has asked parents to keep their children at home, wherever possible, and asked schools to remain open only for those children who absolutely need to attend. The fewer children in educational settings, the lower the risk that the virus can spread and infect vulnerable individuals in wider society.

Schools are therefore being asked to continue to provide care for a limited number of children - children who are vulnerable, and children whose parents are critical to the Covid-19 response and cannot be safely cared for at home.

Vulnerable children include children who are supported by social care, those with safeguarding and welfare needs, including child in need plans, on child protection plans, ‘looked after’ children, young carers, disabled children and those with education, health and care (EHC) plans.

NEW 06/07/2020 - GCSE Results Day 2020 - August 20th

Dear Parent/Carer

This year's GCSE results day is on August 20th. In light of the current circumstances we are having to depart from our usual format and are exploring the ways to communicate the result with pupils and parents.  Please fill in the short survey attached, indicating your preference in receiving your child's results.

The following points are worth considering when making your preferred choice;

  • In collecting your child's results in school you will be given an allotted time, however this may not be until the afternoon.
  • In receiving your child's results by post, there will, inevitably, be a delay of 1-3 days.
  • In receiving your child's results by email, in order to comply with GDPR regulations that email must be your child's school email address.

Should you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to call on the school on 01524 32636 or email me directly at matt.williams@lancasterhigh.lancs.sch.uk
